Hey!

My name is Laura. I’m almost 21 and I live near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, North East England. At the moment I live with my sister, brother-in-law, neice and one of my many cousins. I love my little family more than anything, even though I complain about their habits continuously. I rarely drink alcohol and I quit smoking 6 months ago.

I’m totally into music, movies, books, writing, photography and I’m obsessed with leopard print…

My favourite bands/artists are Spice Girls, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Tokio Hotel and Katy Perry. However, I do like cheesy music to dance around my room to, such as Spice Girls, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato etc.

My favourite movies are Napoleon Dynamite, Blades Of Glory, Drop Dead Fred, The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast and White Chicks.

My favourite books are The Green Mile – Stephen King, Dreamcatcher – Stephen King, PS: I Love You – Cecilia Ahern, Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse/Breaking Dawn – Stephenie Meyer and Change Of Heart – Jodi Picoult.

I love to take photos of anything and everything, I have about 12 photo albums full! I’d love to recieve random photos to compile into another album. My favourite things to photograph are my beautiful neice – Bethany, trees and my local beach.

I adore white roses and after watching “Definately, Maybe” I want to collect books with inscriptions on the first page. Ones with messages written for me would be cuter. I want to keep pigs as pets (I love them!)

Mix cds, letters, postcards, photographs, paintings, handmade things, quotes, journals, homemade things. All things I’d LOVE to recieve. I’m really excited to take part in this.

who created this site?

my name is sinoun and you can find all my projects here. i’ve been active in the snail mail community for many years and i have great fun sending and receiving mail. i live in atlanta, georgia and i love to eat, sleep, and play.

what is the purpose of this site?

the purpose of this simple site is to provide a resource of sending and receiving random mail for people all over this world. the purpose is to encourage the growth of the creative snail mail community. the purpose is to have fun!

how do i join?

joining is as simple as searching the site and finding as little or as many people you would like to send mail to. joining is as simple as filling out a little form that will add you to this list so you can possibly receive mail as well. that’s it!

why are there big ass numbers next to each post?

those numbers are dates. since i am using wordpress, the site is in a form of a blog so every time there is a new post/submission, a date will be stamped with it. this works out pretty well because it keeps everything organized. the order of the long list of participants doesn’t really matter anyway, but it is possible that the ordering could change in the future.

what if i’m really interested in participating, but i’m not comfortable putting my address on the world wide web?

that is completely understandable. if that is the case, i suggest you look into getting a post office box. getting one usually isn’t very expensive and is worth it in my opinion. i’ve had one for years and it has been useful not just for anatomic air press and sending out mail, but for my personal life as well! it is reliable and there is more security.

what do i send to people, what should i expect to receive, and what if i don’t get a response from someone i send mail out to?

what you send to people is up to you! be creative and don’t be an asshole. write a letter or a postcard. send a mix cd. read each individual profile and i’m sure you’ll come up something. the possibilities are endless. keep in mind that i can not guarantee that you will receive something, even if you send someone something, don’t automatically assume you’ll get something in return. although it is likely that you will get a response, it doesn’t always happen. random mail without getting something in return is a part of mail art sometimes. it really depends on the relationship you build with the other individual. anatomic air press (me, sinoun) is not responsible for what you receive. please do not give us information that you do not want to share with the public.

what is the future of postal traffic?

this site is growing everyday and i hope it continues to grow. i would love for postal traffic to play a huge role in the snail mail community by becoming a great and fun resource. as far as the website goes, i’ll continue to do my best to make it as user friendly and aesthetically pleasing as possible.

new home and new face

postal traffic was created during the end of december 2008 under the trading network. the concept was slightly different from the trading network, but i kept it together during its conception.

postal traffic has grown so fast that i have decided to separate it from the trading network! it works much better this way.

it was super fun to make the site and i hope you have just as much fun browsing it. please do let me know what you think. you can do so by commenting on this post.

the new design is very simple. all the main links are on top. the “search” option is now up on top, too because i think it is a very useful tool for narrowing down people. for example: if you want to find someone who likes anything japanese or is located in japan, type in “japan” and the search engine will pull up anyone that has “japan” in their post. wordpress is a beautiful gift to the world.

if you have the opportunity, i highly encourage you sharing your thoughts and experience by commenting on this site. for example: if you find a bad address, please let us know! you can e-mail me directly or click on the person’s post and comment. you can go to each individual’s post by simply clicking their name and then it will allow you to comment. it is all about the community communicating with each other.
